My name is Dena Pennington and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year.  I am married and have a son who will be a senior this year at West Carteret High School and a daughter who will be in 5th grade here at Annunciation.  I have a degree from Emory & Henry College in elementary education from Preschool-8th grade.  I have worked with children ranging in ages from 4 weeks old to 8th grade through day cares and schools.  I have subbed/taught in both private and public schools.  My husband retired from the Coast Guard in 2016 and we made North Carolina our permanent home.  Due to my husband's previous military career, we have lived in many different states and cities.  We have lived in Keyser, WV, La Jolla, CA , Virginia Beach, VA, Bayamon, PR, Westhampton Beach, NY and now here in NC.  Moving was not always easy but it gave me the ability to observe as a parent and work in different areas of the country and learn their curriculum as well. 
My family and I love to go to the beach and spending time together.
